Members of the Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club are required to participate in our annual Club fundraising effort. Proceeds from our fundraisers are used to help subsidize ice costs and off ice activities that benefit Club skaters through teambuilding and education.
WHO IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN FUNDRAISING?
All members of EPFSC are required to participate in our annual fundraising effort, EXCEPT as
indicated below.
- The fundraising requirement is waived for new EPFSC members for their first
membership year regardless of the date membership begins. For example, a skater who joins in September will be exempt from the current year requirements and will be required to participate in fundraising beginning in July with the
next membership year. The first-year exemption does not apply to skaters transferring to EPFSC from a
different club or previous USFS members. - Associate, Adult, and Collegiate Members have no fundraising requirements. While there are minimum requirements for participation each year, efforts above and beyond the requirements are greatly appreciated by EPFSC members and their families.
WHAT ARE THE FUNDRAISERS?
EPFSC offers several fundraising options. A summary of the fundraising opportunities each year is available upon request and via the link below, please contact edenprairiefsc@gmail.com or any Board Member for more information.
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM ANNUAL FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENTS?
Each club member is responsible for selling 20 “fundraising units” per membership year.
FUNDRAISING BUY-OUT OPTION
The EPFSC offers a Fundraising Buyout Option. The buyout allows families to forgo active
fundraising if that is not preferred, while still ensuring that they are contributing to the financial
needs that fundraising provides the Club.
The current annual fundraising buy-out fee is $200 and can be paid at the beginning of the membership year upon renewal. This fee is non-refundable. Any additional fundraising is appreciated and will go directly to EPFSC for the benefit of all members.
If a skater does not meet the requirements for 20 fundraising units during the year, the skater will be assessed as a prorated portion of the buyout fee for the shortfall. Based on the current buyout fee of $200 and minimum 20 fundraising units, this equates to $10 per fundraising unit. For example, if you sold 14 “fundraising units” during the year, you will be billed 6 x $10 ($60) to make up the shortfall. This charge will appear on bills shortly after June 30 of the membership year.
