Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for members’ physical, emotional and social safety and ensuring that it promotes an environment free of misconduct. Adherence to a locker room policy enhances privacy and reduces the likelihood of misconduct. Accordingly, all members shall adhere to this locker room policy at all times.
EPFSC Member Locker Room
EPFSC has one dedicated member locker room available for use by all members. The locker room should be a safe and appropriate environment for all members. Skaters using the locker room should remember that the locker room is expressly for storage and active preparation for skating, not for socializing. Only skaters, parents, guardians, and siblings are allowed in the locker room at any time.
All EPFSC skaters are responsible for their own belongings. Skaters are also responsible to report any suspicious behavior that is witnessed involving theft or tampering with another skater’s belongings.
If a skater witnesses a conversation or behavior that makes them uncomfortable, that member should go to an adult – their parent, a coach, or an EPFSC Board Member or volunteer.
Privacy
The locker room is co-ed. Skaters needing to change must use the bathroom or locked changing room in the locker room or other Eden Prairie Community Center bathroom. Parents and guardians may enter the locker room at any time to assist their skater.
Prohibited conduct
The following is prohibited at all times in the EPFSC locker room:
- All misconduct defined by the EPFSC Codes of Conduct and the USFS SkateSafe Handbook, including but not limited to bullying, hazing, harassment (including sexual harassment), emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, and sexual misconduct (including child sexual abuse).
- Recording of any type including voice recording, still photos, and video.
Violations
Reports of any actual or suspected violations should be made to the SkateSafe Compliance Chairperson at skatesafe@edenprairiefsc.org.
